	Who are we? Good question! Starved Rock Outfitters is a small specialty outdoor store located in Utica, Illinois. We stock an excellent selection of rock climbing gear, rescue gear, climbing and rescue ropes, climbing guide books and videos. We are proud to carry quality climbing gear from Black Diamond, Metolius, CCH (Alien Cams), Splitter Gear, CMI, Trango, Wild Country, MSR, Camp, Omega-Pacific, ABC, Petzl, Charlet Moser, DMM, Five-Ten, Scarpa, La Sportiva, Singing Rock, Kong, Maxim, Sterling Rope, BlueWater, Edelweiss, SMC, Ushba, Fixe and many other fine manufacturers. We also carry a large selection of climbing holds by Franklin, Entreprises, Metolius, Nicros, Pusher and Cheap Holds.
Starved Rock Outfitters is run by Tom Destri and Mark Connell. Between us we have a combined 30 years of climbing experience. Have we climbed Everest? No. Half Dome? No. Midnight Lightning? No. (But we've dreamed about that one!) We have climbed moderate to hard routes in the Midwest, Colorado, South Dakota, Wyoming, Canada, the Upper Penninsula... We enjoy rock and ice climbing, backpacking and outdoor pursuits. In 1991 we opened and developed one of the first indoor rock gyms in Illinois (Upper Limits) which was an overwhelming success. We eventually sold the gym in order to spend more time with our families. (No regrets!) Now that our kids are teenagers, we have decided to again provide the quality service that we were known for in our previous climbing venture. We are excited, honored and humbled by this opportunity to earn your trust.
	Where are we located? Starved Rock Outfitters' worldwide headquarters is based in the little town of Utica, Illinois. Utica is located approximately 2 hours southwest of Chicago, or 1 hour north of Bloomington and Peoria. Our store is situated just 2 minutes from one of the finest state parks in the midwest - Starved Rock State Park - and a few blocks from the historic Illinois & Michigan Canal.
